The prime accused in the blinding of patients, Dr C A Nelson Jesudasan, director of Joseph Eye Hospital in Trichy, was honoured with ‘best private player’ award by former chief minister J Jayalalithaa on August 15, 2013 for creating a high number of job opportunities for differently-abled persons.
